The Achievement Of Golf Distance

The golfer who coined the idiom drive for show and putt for dough must have could not have cleaned up hacking out sideways after his drive. This game must be played from the fairway after a good drive. Golfers are perpetually looking for golf distance tips from anyone that offers them. If you are entertaining clients at a business lunch, you can bet a golf tip will be proffered at some point. You watch the pros on TV and stare in wonder how they hit it so long and so straight, yet seem to swing so easy…

Most golfers I know want, at a minimum to get off the tee to at least get them in the game and enjoy their round. However, is you find yourself telling your playing partners after your tee shots that you will meet them on the green and then go hiking in the woods for your ball, you know the pain of having a nice round of golf destroyed because you can’t get off the tee. Is there a secret formula you ask yourself. There must be a quick and easy solution that the pros and good golfers share but just won’t divulge. Let me tell you my friends, there is no secret handshake. There is no quick fix. There is no club on the market that can cure the ills a bad golf swing produces. The solution to better driving and more solid shots is balance and consistency.

The answer is to start from the ground up. Take one step at a time. The grip is the starting point and then you work your way through to your stance and then the swing. I tested all the fast fixes and changing drivers and perusing golf digest for other golf distance tips and new putting secrets. I stumbled upon the one program that worked for me: Eric Jones’ 5 Keys to Golf Distance.

This program was the only one that made sense to me as far as the teaching of the proper plane and balance, which to me was the key. The key to the system is based on achieveing balance and utilizeing leverage to find untapped power. The group forums and newsletters and email video tips make you feel part of community of golfers looking to improve.

I could not recommend this product more highly.

The Origin Of Golf

The actual beginning of the game of golf as long been argued. Research as dated the sport back to the Romans where they played a game of paganica, which involved using a bent stick to hit wool or feather stuffed leather ball. With the Romans conquering much of Europe during the first century B.C, the game soon spread throughout Europe, eventually evolving into the modern game.

The modern game of golf as it is played today originated in Scotland around the 12th century, on the site of the Old Course at St Andrews. Records tell us that Shepherds were found knocking stones around a course into rabbit holes.

It is fascinating to point out that though Scotland is the birth place of the game of golf. During the middle part of the fifteenth century, a ban on the sport was put in place. This took place when Scotland was preparing to defend itself from an invasion from England.

The game was so popular at the time in Scotland historians tell us.The Scottish Parliament of James 11 had the sport banned, because the people were neglecting their military training, which was required if they were to drive the English from their land. This ban was reintroduced in 1470 and 1491. However, the game was so fashionable that any ban that was imposed was totally ignored.

Scotland is the home of the world’s oldest golf course, St. Andrews, which was used as early as the sixteenth century. St. Andrews established an 18-hole golf course in 1857, and other courses followed suit over the years until the 18-hole course was considered the norm.

To play golf requires comparatively short grass, however in the 15th century. Mechanical grass mowers did not exist. The earliest golfers played on courses similar to our “Links” courses. The area was between the sea shore and the land with rough with natural short bladed grassy terrain, sandy soil, with plenty of sand dunes and pits, as it was near the beach. The land was unfit to agriculture so had little value but soon became poplar with the golfers. Golf was usually played in the winter months when animals grazed and kept the grass short.

The most important thing about learning golf is the spirit of wanting to know and learn more about golf. After all, there are many outlets that may have the Best Golf Tips for you. We would like to recommend the Masters Golf Secrets that features tips and advise for the beginner as well as the seasoned golfer.

The 2010 Phillies Oh What A Year

If you are a fan of the Phillies, then you already know the type of year that they are having. The team is looking to make a grand impression on the rest of the baseball community in the second part of the season. The Phillies are poised to make a grand second half of the season in the coming months. The momentum that they have will allow them to head into the post season with a strong sense of ready to dominate the rest of the teams.

There are several reasons that the team will be able to repeat the success that they have had in the past few months, the big reason is the addition of Roy Halliday to the pitching rotation. This as a result means that the team is poised to make a lasting impression on the pitching world of baseball. This was the most sought out free agent during the off season, this ended with the Phillies winning the war and getting the services of Halliday for their bullpen. There are few doubts that the bullpen of the Phillies will be as strong as it has in the past few months.

There is finally a pitching rotation that is in place that can provide a strong power at the plate. After a few years of the team not having a strong batting rotation, the Phillies are finally in a position that they can send the ball out of the park each and every time he takes to the plate. Regardless of the outcome when they head to the plate, there are several players that will give the team a strong presence when they are at the plate. This will be the second part of the Phillies one two punch, the more that the opposing pitchers try to stop the batting order, the less luck that they will have.

The Phillies outfield will also be an area that the team will need to make sure that they keep in a well-oiled machine setting, the more that the team pushes in the outfield, then the more that the team is looking to make the big plays. These plays will be the key in making sure that the team has continued success in the coming months. The first half of the season has been one to remember, and there is reason to believe that the second part of the season will be as great as the first.

The fans that makes sure that they keep the faith, will be rewarded with the best season in Phillies history. There are few things that this team will be able to accomplish if they put their minds to it later this season. If all the right elements line up, then the team will be looking at one of the best opportunities that the team has had in a long time. This will lead the team to win the World Series in the future. . This will be the biggest opportunity that the team has had in several years. The fans of the team will be ready for the post season as all indications point to the team heading to another World Series appearance.

The Boston Red Sox, In Need Of Help

This has not been a season that the faithful of the Red Sox want to remember, there have been a ton of issues that have formed with the team in the past few seasons. This team is a far cry from the glory that they had no more than five years ago. Since the day that the curse was broken the team has seemed to be under a new curse. This new curse has made the team look less than stellar. The Faithful of the Red Sox are holding out hope that there is still time left to bring the team back from the edge and get them back on track.

The bullpen of the Red Sox is the first area that needs to be worked on if the team has any chance of making improvements in their pitching rotation. There are several gaps that have formed in the past few months that have made the team weak when it comes to getting batters out and sending them to the dugout. The team will need to make sure that they make wise trades that will send the bullpen into a recovery mode and as a result will lead to the team heading to victory once again.

A decent closer that can hold batters at the plate and prevent massive plays from being made is also a crucial thing that needs to be addressed. This is a problem that has hurt the team for the past several years. The more that they try, the less they are able to find decent closers. This will be a problem that will continue to plague the team the longer that they try to get past this issue. This will be a very important aspect that will need to be considered when you are looking to get the team back on track.

The batting order is one area that has seen a lot of work in the past few years. Ever since the departure of Johnny Damon, the team has suffered some. With the slump that David Ortiz is currently in, there is little wonder if the team will be able to compete with the rest of the big boys. Ortiz was supposed to be the salvation of the team; instead it has lead to the downfall of the team. There is little hope of fixing this problem in time to make an impression in the second part of the season.

No matter what side of things that you stand on, you need to make it a point that you keep the faith for the Red Sox this team is on the brink of making a run for the playoffs in the upcoming seasons. There just needs to be a little more concentration for the team. In the off season the team will be on their way in order getting the team back on track so that 2011 will be the best year for them. There is no reason that the fans of the team should never give up on the team in the upcoming seasons.

My Changed NFL Season Life

It has finally begun. NFL season.

In principle it began this past week on the astro turf in Boise, ID in a contest ordained to be known for what took place after the blunt Blount party -more than anything that took place in the course of the 60 minutes of regulation.

And currently the Steelers – seeking to turn out to be the first franchise ever since the Pats to do it again – began their championship defense with a gratifying win over Tennessee to inaugurate the 2009 football season.

I recognize I am not as prolific in the course of football season. Suddenly, I’m only doing stuff during commercials, if at all, on Saturdays and Sundays, plus Thursday nights, Friday nights, and Monday nights.

Then throw in fantasy football – which drastically lessens the quantity of time I would otherwise be functional, writing, or doing something productive-and lots more hours than I am willing to acknowledge will be spent on this sport.

This time of year, I surely do not eat as healthy.

Wednesday night, I had salmon with mixed vegetables and went for a swim after a six mile run.

Thursday (game day), I ate a super burrito, too many chips, several, some more chips, and saw the movie Max Payne after the game, prior to checking fantasy lines for Kerry Collins and then stumbling to bed, full from the chips.

Do not know if there are some NFL detox programs and even if there are, I wouldn’t voluntarily take part. Hopefully my family wouldn’t perform some sort of intervention.

Fact is, I don’t want to quit, although as a Broncos enthusiast that could change as the year progresses.

NFL and NCAA football are religion for a large percentage of the population. We’re corn chip-eating cult members following the rantings of Chris Collinsworth.

So it is on. The ’09 year commenced and, for better or for worse, my days won’t be the same until a month into 2010, when the natural NFL detox commences.

Keys For Tennis Players On Hard Courts

Anyone who plays the sport of tennis knows that the surface of each court will have a profound impact on the way the game is played. Depending on the court type, your strategy will certainly change.

I’d like to write about the most popular surface in the world, and that is hard tennis courts. These are commonly used in both outdoor and indoor settings, and the fact that they’re easier to maintain than any other kind is the reason for this.

What are some of the unique attributes of hard courts, and how should the game be played on them? Here are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind.

The ball moves really quickly on hard courts, and you’ll be in for a surprise if you typically play on clay courts. Those who excel in the serving department always enjoy the advantages of this surface, as fast serves will be even harder to hit back.

As far as baseline play goes, hard courts don’t really work for or against people with this strategy. This is a good thing in many regards, as it won’t ruin your chances of winning a match should you choose to stay back. Hard hitting can be an asset here.

If you’re a fast runner, this never hurts in the sport of tennis, but it won’t be something you can exploit, so to speak. Your speed will be a bigger asset on hard courts than it is on grass, but it won’t let you get to as many balls as you can on clay courts.

Still, this isn’t to say that your speed won’t be an asset during a match, because it absolutely can and will. You’re far better off as a fast runner playing here than you would be on grass, and a speedy player is certainly difficult to defeat if there are other weapons that player possesses as well.

As far as net play goes, this is another asset too. If you rush to the net, the fast surface will enable you to put balls away with volleys if they’re well placed with a fair amount of power behind them. Many people do well with a serve and volley strategy when playing on these courts.

Keep these elements in mind and you’ll be well on your way next time you play on one of these courts. Good luck to you!

Adding Or Changing Golf Cart Parts Is Not As Difficult As You May Think

People that own golf carts and use them often, put wear and tear on the various golf cart parts such as tires, batteries, seats, brake lights, and mats. Many people who are not mechanical-minded assume that changing a part on their golf cart is beyond their scope of knowledge. However, replacing parts on a golf cart is not difficult, particularly since there is so much less to them mechanically than an automobile.

Let’s assume as an example, your brake light goes out on your cart. You head to the dealership you purchased the cart and they of course can replace the bulb. They charge you for the bulb plus the cost to install it, and you end up paying much more than the bulb is worth. If you have a screwdriver and can unplug a light bulb and plug a new one in, you can save several dollars. In this case, you simply need to go to a golf cart parts store and purchase the correct bulb for your model, which costs a few dollars. Installing it takes only a few minutes.

Additional golf cart parts can be used to accessorize your cart, including seat covers, painting, bumpers, and dashboards. These also are not difficult to install, but when it comes to batteries or replacing a complete dashboard, many people shy away from doing it themselves if they are not confident in their abilities.

If saving money is your ultimate goal when adding parts or replacing parts on your cart, you can easily learn how to replace them. If you know of someone that is handy, have him or her show you systematically how to replace or add specific parts to the cart. Another way to learn how to change out parts or accessorize is read through your owner’s manual. You can gain a wealth of information by simply reading through the various parts that the golf cart has. In addition, the owner’s manual probably has the part numbers of commonly replaced parts such as bulbs and tires.

Taking the time to learn how to replace specific parts or customize your golf cart with accessories will not only save you money, but give you a sense of pride in knowing your did the work yourself. Additionally, you will have saved yourself an immense amount of money by replacing parts on your own because you only have to purchase the parts and do not have to pay someone to install it, which is referred to as labor costs. Most people that learn to install parts quickly find out that replacing or adding parts to a golf cart is nothing like an automobile. They find that the process is not as difficult as they thought.

Used Golf Carts: Electric Or Gas?

If you have made the decision to buy used golf carts, you now have to determine if you prefer a gas-powered to an electric cart. There are benefits to both and knowing all the facts about the benefits and drawbacks will help you make an educated decision. Gas and electric used golf carts look the same, for the most part.

The positive aspects of gas golf carts is that they have a bit more power than their electric counterparts and therefore, do better if the golf course you normally golf has a landscape with lots of hills. Gas golf carts tend to last longer and are quite durable; there is not a lot that can go wrong with them. Gas carts are cheaper, for the same reason gas-powered cars are cheaper than electric.

In some states, such as California, gas golf carts are banned in various areas of the state because they produce more pollution than the electric carts, which is the first negative aspect to the gas-powered cart, you may not be able to purchase one, depending where you live.

Gas golf carts tend to be noisy, but it clearly depends on the brand you buy. Older gas-powered carts tend to smell from the fumes of the gas itself, but the newer models perform much cleaner. The gas-powered requires both gas and oil and like a car can start leaking after awhile, so it can be messy specifically in older used golf carts.

The electric golf carts are exceptionally quiet, good for the environment, do not leak, and are clean to run. However, there are negatives as well, for instance, they do not do well on hills because they lack the power of the gas-powered. They run best on flat surfaces. They do not go as fast as the gas powered carts, but this is probably not a huge factor since no one is racing on a golf course. Electric golf carts, new or used are more expensive because they are a newer technology and better for the environment, which is a huge selling factor for dealers. One charge is sufficient for at least two rounds of golf, so the electric carts hold their charge fairly well.

If you are looking into used golf carts, chances are money is an issue, so a gas-powered may be your best option because you will get a lot better of a cart than an electric cart. However, it is wise to know exactly what your budget is and then decide which cart you truly can afford. You might be surprised and end up able to afford the electric model, unless the gas cart is truly, what you want. Regardless if, you choose gas or electric, always purchase from a reputable dealer.
