As a beginning golfer there tends to be some confusion when it comes to selecting the proper golf iron during the course of a round. Without proper club selection your score will add up very quickly and frustration will kick in rather quickly. In this article we will look at the basic mechanics of the golf iron, a method to determine distance and how weather will affect your golf shot.
The easiest way to explain the mechanics of golf irons is to say that essentially all of the clubs would go the same distance but due to the angle of the club face the ball path is different. The three iron has an angle typically around 21 degrees promoting the golf ball to fly at a low height over a long distance. On the other side of the golf bag we have the nine iron which is typically around 41 degrees which has the ball flying much higher in the air and not as far.
For a beginner golfer the best way to figure out your iron distance is to head for the golf range with your five iron. Measure your distance over a series of shots to figure out what your average is. Now for each lower iron add ten yards for example if your five iron averages 150 yards the four iron would average 160 yards and the three iron should travel around 170 yards. For the higher clubs minus ten yards so the six iron is 140 yards and the seven iron is 130 yards and so on. Needless to say this is not a perfect system but is should give you an indicator of your range.
Weather tends to screw up the great distance chart we created in the previous paragraph. Lets say your seven iron typically travels around a 150 yards but if you are striking into a high wind the chance of the ball reaching the distance is going to be less as the balls flight path is at great risk in the wind. Now you need to make a decision on finding a lower numbered club that will be able to cover the desired distance and it should be kept in mind that the lower the number the less of an arc in the golf flight path so the weather factor is reduced.
Every golfer on the planet wants to have complete control over their scoring irons and as you improve the high value and importance of these clubs will become more apparent. When you are just beginning it is essential that you develop a swing that is consistent and can be used on all the clubs in your bag. Remember that golf is a game and it is suppose to be a good time so appreciate the time spent on the course and stop fretting on what appears on your scorecard.

The Atlanta Falcons are off to a good start to the 09′ season. Can they keep pace with the New Orleans Saints all season in the NFC South division? This will be a very tough task, but they do have some young rising stars that can help this situation.
Matt Ryan had one of the best rookie QB seasons ever in 08′, completing 61% of his pass attempts, over 3,400 yards passing, 21 touchdown passes, only 12 interceptions, with a QB rating of almost 90 and starting all 16 games – many veteran QB’s will take that season any day.
The Atlanta Falcons have the benefit of playing in the NFC South – that should create easy wins for them over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Falcons face some tough opponents in the New York Jets, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints twice – these teams should provide the Falcons with a good test to see where they stand amongst the NFL elite. With no clear cut favorite to come out the NFC – the Falcons could be the “dark horse” of the NFC.
What must improve for the Falcons is the defense. The Falcons are giving up too many yards – while holding teams to under 20 points per game – the Falcons will need to stay on the field longer and control the clock.
The Falcons won both games, and now sit pretty with a 2-0 record. Week 3 will be a test for two reasons. First of all, the team plays away from home for the first time all season. In addition to heading on the road, they’re also facing Tom Brady and the Patriots.
The Falcons were great at home in 2008, but struggled on the road. Secondly, a very tough opponent in the New England Patriots (you can be sure they’ll be looking to make a statement after losing to the Jets) will bring out a very tough opponent determined to test the grit of this team.

As well as helping your family to get a better understanding of what is around them it also will help them to appreciate the kind of music that they listen to much more.
One of the best ways for you to have fun and make the bond between each member of your family that much stronger is spending the day at an amusement park. With these types of fun family activities it offers you the chance to act like a child once more if you wish. However remember that if you are visiting a park with small children they won’t be able to go on every single ride. Therefore it is important that you and other members of your family spend time involved in the kinds of activities that are suitable for them and which they enjoy.

Regardless of how old the new golfer is, the clubs and other random golf equipment will be one of the first purchase considerations on their mind. There is no need to run out and buy the latest titanium drivers to start with, but as you continue to improve your golf game, you can slowly improve your golf gear.
