While its unwise to put too much importance on NFL preseason performances, its hard not to be impressed with the New Orleans Saints offense. In particular, its impossible to not be impressed with the play of starting QB Drew Brees. Brees played only three series against the Oakland Raiders on Saturday night, but that was enough–by the time he left the Saints led 21-0 en route to a 45-7 thrashing on their hosts. New Orleans improved to 3-0 on the NFL preseason, while the Raiders dropped to 1-2.
All Brees did in only three series was roll up 179 yards on 14 of 17 passing and three touchdowns. After the game, he was pleased with the performance of his offense:
“I just felt like we accomplished what we wanted to there with regards to playing with our tempo and our intensity. We were able to get into a rhythm. When you walk away with three touchdowns on three possessions, that’s what you want to do.”
Brees was aided by the return of last years leading receiver, Lance Moore. Moore had shoulder surgery in the offseason and was excited to be back on the field:
“I felt great. I felt like I hadn’t missed a lot. It was great being out there, getting hit and having fun in the game.”
Tight end Jeremy Shockey was pleased with the effort, and said that the team was in Northern California to play football and not due to oenophilia:
“It looked good on the scoreboard but let’s look at it in the film room. We came all the way to California not for the wine but to get some good work in.
In the Oakland locker room, the mood was somber. Raiders QB JaMarcus Russell was especially upset by the lopsided loss:
“Everything that could have possibly went wrong, went wrong today. It was very embarrassing today. It was disrespectful to our fans, ourselves and our family to go out and perform that way.”
While the Saints scored almost at will against the Raiders porous defense, tight end Zach Miller was more concerned with the sputtering offense:
“I’ve never felt so lousy after a game, period. The way our offense played was embarrassing so we’re going to fix it.”
The Raiders will look to conclude the NFL preseason with a better effort as they travel to the Pacific Northwest to play the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday. New Orleans will host the Miami Dolphins on the same night.

There are numerous ways to improve golfing swing speed yet not all are created equal. You’ve probably heard about keeping a stable lower body and turning into your right side amongst other “keys” to boost golfing swing speed.
There are one or two that stand out but what we discovered is that every one of them focus on some kind of muscle strength or limitation in the swing. Extension is one key that at least allows for a free movement in the swing.
There’s a key right there: swing. Hitters infrequently reach their distance potential. It’s good to be a swinger sometimes, at least in golf!
Free Flowing Power for Speed
Here’s a few tips you can try. Follow the steps below when you’re at the range next time.
1. Place one card or tee two feet in back of the ball (outside your swing line so you don’t hit them)
2. Then place one tee or card a foot ahead/in front of the ball
3. Then put each tee 1 foot further aheadt of the ball (so about 2 feet in front of the ball).
Ok, I am shortening this drill for the sake of this conversation. Now move the driver away from the ball slowly (not artificially slow but smoothly) and keep it low so it passes over the card behind the ball.
Then simply make your swing and make the club head extend over the two cards and extending toward the target.
Pure Swing Speed & Power and Ease
This drill is so effective at doing 1 or 2 nice things for your swing. Distance for certain, consistency is another, and a sense of power in the swing becomes obvious. If you rehearse this just a few times (I would recommend you spend lots of time dialing this “feeling” in and gaining the result.
This action will improve golf swing speed in a way that creates an abundance of power but without the struggle on your muscles and body. It’s not a swing drill based on restriction and aggression.
Raise your golf swing speed using this powerful yet simple drill and add 10 Mph to your swing speed in one one practice session!

When the biggest play of a NFL football game is an extra point, there’s a good chance it was a dull contest. The big play of the game? A point after touchdown by the Bengals backup kicker, none other than wide receiver Chad Ochocinco. Ochocinco’s PAT would prove to be the margin of victory as Cincinnati beat New England 7-6.
After the game, the always entertaining Chad Ochocinco talked about his love for European soccer:
“‘Esteban’ Ochocinco is back, the most interesting footballer in the world. Everyone has to remember, I’ve always said that soccer is my No. 1 sport. I think Ronaldinho would be proud of me right now.”
To punctuate his fondness for the sport known as football in the rest of the world, Ochocinco whipped out his iPhone to display a picture of him with former England captain David Beckham. He then continued:
“Soccer’s my first love, Kicking’s easy … like riding a bike. I can kick them from 50, 60 yards, left or right hash mark. … I kicked all through high school.”
Ochocinco was pressed into service as a placekicker when Shane Graham complained of a sore groin in pregame warm-ups. Ochocinco also played a few series at his usual position, catching three passes for 69 yards.
Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker, who was pressed into emergency service as a placekicker while with the Miami Dolphins, disputed Ochocinco’s claims about kicking being easy:
“It’s not easy. To kick that is something, and he got real good height on it.”
Cincinnati scored their only touchdown on JT OSullivans 24 yard pass to Chris Henry. That set up Ochocincos picture perfect extra point. OSullivan was also amused, but emphasized that his receivers athletic versatility is no joke:
“Nothing surprises me. All joking aside, he still kicked the ball through the uprights and it ended up winning the game. Some people might think its funny, but it’s important.”
The Bengals continue their NFL preseason play on Thursday, hosting the St. Louis Rams. New England will be back in action on Friday night as they travel to Washington, DC for a game against the Redskins. Cincinnati will kick off their NFL regular season schedule on Sunday, September 13th as they host the Denver Broncos. The Patriots will get their campaign underway on Monday, September 14th as they play the Buffalo Bills at home.

It has become common practice to use golf GPS devices from both amateurs and professionals. Even the greatest golfers in the world can astound themselves how often they can mis-judge a shot by only using their eye for judging the distance. A couple of feet can be the difference between getting a birdie and making par. Fortunately for the world’s best golfers a personal caddy is able to act as their own human GPS system.
The difference for amateur golfers is that it may be costing you a lot of money to enjoy the courses you haven’t played before and if you don’t have a GPS system to help you around, an experienced caddy will cost you even more. Having a supportive device around the course will ensure you leave knowing you tried your best, hitting shots out of skill and trusting the distance.

Most are small enough to easily slip into your pocket, attach to your belt or even can be worn as a watch around your wrist.
* Always make sure when shopping around for a golf GPS that it actually has the courses you wish to play available. Many leading GPS devices such as Shotsaver can be used at over 5500 courses across the UK as well as over Europe.
