Do you want to become proficient in the most devastating, deadly martial arts around? Do you want to be feared, respected, and feel the power of knowing that you could kill a man with your bare hands? You should definitely look into these martial arts; they put years upon years of combat experience in your hands.
Krav Maga. This is what the Israeli Special Forces practice. It’s a deadly combination of a variety of different martial arts disciplines and combatives, and it is widely and quickly gaining a reputation as one of the most effective disciplines in existence. It is interesting to note that there are two main varieties of Krav Maga being taught; there is the civilian version, which tends to emphasize hand-to-hand combat, self-defense, and street fighting. There is also the military version, or the police version, which is taught to law enforcement officials for training for engagements with automated weapons, engagements with terrorists, disarming explosives, surveillance, and more.
Muay Thai. The national sport of Thailand, Muay Thai has been around for thousands of years. It was developed in Thailand as a means of quickly disarming and killing the invading legions from such empires as Cambodia and Sri Lanka. Indeed, the native fighting styles of these three countries have deep roots together and have influenced each other. Muay Thai is often referred to as The Science Of The Eight Limbs, referring to both elbows, both shins, both knees, and both fists. A legendary Cambodian king is said to have commented that practicioners of Muay Thai have venom at all points of their body. Muay Thai is quickly becoming one of the preferred and most-often trained-in styles in mixed martial arts.
Pencak Silat. Pencak Silat is an umbrella term for over eight-hundred varieties of martial arts that are most often considered as having originated in Indonesia over the past few hundred years. Pencak Silat involves the use of small knives, blades, and sticks, as well as the fists and feet. It includes aspects of striking as well as aspects of grappling, submissions, and takedowns. There is a particular interest in footwork; various techniques of footwork are involved in the practice of the various forms of Pencak Silat, including quadrangular stepping, triangular stepping, and zig-zag stepping. Pencak Silat is not widely used in mixed martial arts… yet.
Escrima. Escrima is a very deady martial art that originated in the Phillipines as a result of the repeated attempts at subjugating the natives. Escrima was designed to be taught to resistance fighters quickly and with as devastating an effect as possible. It incorporates the use of the fist, feet, various submissions and grappling techniques, as well as the knife and stick. In short: in training in Escrima, one is sure that one can always have a weapon available. With a mere knife or stick, one trained in Escrima can react to a threat with devastating and deadly force. Practicioners of Escrima are called Escrimadors, or Escrimadoras. Escrima, again, is not in use in mixed martial arts, largely because of its emphasis on striking at vulnerable (and thus illegal in competition) parts of the body, often with particularly dangerous techniques or weapons. Escrima, it is said, is better suited for fighting on the street than fighting in a cage or ring.

Muay Thai gives the competitor an advantage in a fight, in and out of the ring. Let me start you of with a little of my background/ identity in relation to the sport of Muay Thai. Growing up as a kid in the Philippines in the 90′s, I was always glued to the television watching Thai boxing competitions. I liked the sport as a kid, because I thought it was more “realistic” than boxing matches. To my surprise, the competitions that allowed elbows and knees ended quick (usually in the 1st and 2nd rounds). I’ve sparred in the ring and have been in a couple of street fights in high school (in the Philippines), and I can tell you from experience that the most brutal techniques always have an element of muay thai into it. Without further ado, LETS GET TO THE GOOD STUFF!!! (The techniques).
The first technique is the fakes, or feint attacks. This is very useful in the ring and deadly in the streets. In the ring, you don’t have to hit your opponent first to make him react to a feint attack. In street fighting however, you must hit him first. Hit him hard and fast, and if he survived your first attack, your second attack could be a feint followed by a counter. Examples of this would be (from a right stance) feint a left cross and throw a right hook to the body, then clinch and follow with a right knee. Throw a left round house kick, then feint the second round house kick twist your body counter clockwise to load up your left hand, jump up with your right foot and execute a super man punch. Feint a right foot jab and throw a left super man punch. Feint a right hook to the head and do an uppercut. Feint a body shot and do a head shot (either hand). Feint a high kick and do a low leg kick (either leg). The possibilities are endless!
The second technique is the draw in. In a draw in, you make your opponent believe that you forgot all about your defenses and put one of your hands down to chest level or open up your guard. But make sure you are at a right distance relative to his weapons when you’re doing this. You could do this by: Dropping your lead hand and timing your cross before he lands either a jab or a cross (when you do this, make sure you slip to the outside of his jab and to the inside of his cross), dropping your rear hand and timing a lead hook to his temple/jaw, leaning backward and executing timing a front/ rear foot jab (depending on distance), and again the possibilities are endless.
The third one is the clinch-push-attack technique. What is the clinch-push-attack technique? The clinch-push-attack technique is used when your opponent is to strong for your clinch game. At the moment he gets away from your clinch, push him away with either hand (only one hand please) and execute an attack relative to distance. If he is too close, throw a right/ left elbow. If he is too far, load up with the muay thai round kick to the thigh, body, or head. Hint: While he is off balance when he first gets away and is leaning forward, throw a round kick to the head. If he is leaning back throw one on the thigh. If he’s hands are flailing to get his balance, throw a round kick to the body.
This article is in its infancy and I will be posting more techniques as soon as I get back from training. Remember: I only post techniques that work for at least 15-20 different people. If a technique does not work, don’t throw it away like a scratch paper, vary your timing, distance, and positioning to make it work. And most importantly, do what works for you, but set it up to where the opponent does not know its coming.

Rules and manners are a important element of golf, and it’s essential to know the basic principles when playing for the first time.
Whether you’re playing solo, in a two-some, or with a foursome, you should be aware of the course rules. Sometimes you play “ready golf,” meaning whoever’s ready to hit can hit, and sometimes you give “honors,” meaning that the person with the best score from the previous hole swings first. Regardless, you should always be mindful of the players in front of and behind you.
You should never tee off before the group ahead of you is safely far enough ahead of you. Never swing simultaneously with someone else in your group as this can lead to confusion and potentially a dangerous situation.
Figure out which club you will hit with wile you wait for your turn. In your head visualize where you’d like your shot to go on the course. When you’re just getting started, I recommend playing “ready golf” because it keeps the group moving forward and players engaged in the game. Don’t rush, just relax and be ready to take a swing.
If you’re delaying the group behind you because you’re a beginner or playing with beginners, you can always allow other groups to play through. You can wave to them and they’ll understand that you’re letting them play through your group. This is always an appreciated tactic.
When someone else is swinging, don’t stand in their way and try to be respectfully quiet. Talking and unwrapping items can be distracting while trying to hit.
Wherever you are on the course, always remember to fix your divots. When you hit the ball and a chunk of ground goes flying, make sure to replace it. In the fairway you can just put the piece of ground back and step on it; when you’re on the teebox most courses provide a sand/seed mixture to spread over your divot; and when you’re on the green, use your divot tool to repair the uneven surface. This is part of being respectful to the course and leaving it in good condition for future players.
Replace the flag and walk away from the green when you’re finished with each hole. This will allow players behind you to continue moving forward while you count your score and record it on your score card.
Of course, there are other rules of golf that you’ll pick up as you go, but these simple ones will give you enough knowledge to get through the course without embarrassment.

Introducing new players to tennis is difficult because of the sport’s high learning curve. Beginning tennis players have trouble developing consistency and must either have a strong desire to play or very good instruction.

So what is the secret to a Vernon Davis workout that allows this tight end to lead the league in touchdowns? Well for the past 3 seasons before his breakout season in 2009, Vernon Davis had been paying his dues in the weight room working on building more strength and increasing explosiveness. The Vernon Davis workout is certainly an interesting one and one that will have you working hard.
There are some fascinating parts of the Vernon Davis workout. For starters the way the workouts are split is not a normal push or pull or upper and lower body split. Secondly the inclusion of some really interesting exercises that are usually not part of professional football players workouts. And lastly the diet and supplements that fuels the Vernon Davis workout will be discussed.
A 4 day split is the scheduling of the Vernon Davis workout. All weekdays except Wednesday will be a workout day. Lower body is hit with explosive leg movements, deadlifts and squats on Tuesday. On Thursday the triceps are focused with bench, extensions and pressdowns and for the back some pulldowns. Not just the split of the Vernon Davis workout routine is interesting but also the inclusion of some exercises. One good one to talk about is the farmers walk. You can use weight plates or dumbbells for this exercise. All you have to do is pick them up, one in each hand and walk until you can’t hold them anymore. Sounds easy? This exercise will have your grips, traps, upper back and legs screaming. It’s a great exercise.
The fuel and recovery of the Vernon Davis workout comes from the diet and supplements. Davis is strict with his diet adhering to the gabriel method.
